Page 1 (3 panels)

Panel 1: Wide Panel. Shiv and Emergo are finishing burying the princess (funeral mound).

Panel 2: Large panel. Ninja (Ichi) appears beside them. Emergo and Shiv jump, starled. Shiv falls backwards over the mount.

SHIV and EMERGO: AHHHH!

Panel 3: Shiv exasperated, and nursing a bruised behind..

SHIV: What the Hell! You nearly gave me a hear attack!

Page 2 (4 panels)

Panel 1: Ichi inclines his head. Shiv look embarra*sed by his outburst.

ICHI: My apologies. I didn't mean to startle you.

SHIV: S'OK.

Panel 2: Emergo and Shiv sit down by the fire.

EMERGO: Won't you join us?

ICHI: Thank you.

Panel 3: Emergo pa*ses some food to Ichi, Shiv resumes drinking.

ICHI: Thank you. I am Ichi.

EMERGO: Emergo

SHIV: Shiv.

Panel 4: Ichi points to Barkhausers corpse.

ICHI: What happened here?

Panel 1: Wide panel. Shiv looks sad and ashamed.

SHIV: That thing attacked us. The princess died protecting me. I... I... I fainted and hit my head. When I woke up Emergo here had bandaged the cut.

Panel 2: Wide panel. Ichi looks intrigued.

ICHI'S THOUGHTS: Huh, he has no idea he fought. Or that he killed them both. Or of the creature he transformed into. Interesting...

Panel 3: Ichi regards Shiv with a steady gaze. Shiv has just burnt himself on some hot food. Suggest putting one thought caption at the top and one at the bottom.

ICHI'S THOUGHTS:: He looks human--

ICHI'S THOUGHTS:: Idiot. Clearly, the change completely alters his personality.


Page 4 (3 panels)

Panel 1: Emergo, brimming with curiosity, breaks Ichi's chain of thought with some questions of his own.

EMERGO: Is that ninja garb?

ICHI: Yes.

Panel 2: Large panel. Emergo prepares to launch into a long anedote, much to Ichi's annoyance. He is far more interested in Shiv, who is sitting conentedly by the fire.

EMERGO: I visited the ninja school once. I must have been 30 years ago now. As you know, the gardens surrounding it are quite beautiful, but extremely poisonous--

ICHI: Indeed. So, Shiv wasn't it? Your not from around here are you?

SHIV: No. I'm from Insert_Town_Name_Here, in India.

EMERGO: He's from the other dimension, a came through a portal.

ICHI: Really.

Panel 3: Shiv looks concerned.

SHIV: Actually, I'll need go back through pretty soon. My girl friend will be getting worried.

EMERGO: You can't. It closed.

Panel 1: Shiv jumps up, panicked.

SHIV: What? I'm trapped here?

Panel 2: Emergo tries to calm Shiv, while explaining about the portal.

EMERGO: The portal opens for a while, then closes and moves. It can appear anywhere - none knows where it will go next.

Panel 3: Shiv is deply worried but resolved.

SHIV: I have to find it.

Panel 4: Ichi sees his chance.

ICHI: The Oracle could find it.

Panel 1: Emergo and Shiv turn to Ichi. Emergo looks thoughtful.

EMERGO: Ah, yes... I've heard of that. I didn't think anyone knew where it was. It hasn't been seen in centuries.

Panel 2: Shiv slaps his forehead in exasperation.

SHIV: So I have to find the thing that will help me find the thing tha will send me home. And nobody has any idea where either thing is. Wonderful.

Panel 3: Ichi smiles.

ICHI: Actually, I was send on a quest to find it by the head of my order.. I believe that I am getting close.

Panel 4: Emergo is puzzled.

EMERGO: Why do ninja's want the oracle?

Panel 1: Ichi bites back his irritation.

ICHI'S THOUGHTS: If Shiv is going to be of use to me, I need to get rid of this annoying elf.

ICHI: To protect it from the forces of evil.

Panel 2: Ichi turns to Shiv.

ICHI: Your welcome to journey with me.

SHIV: Thanks.

Panel 3: Shiv turns to Emergo. Ichi's eyes narrow murderously.

SHIV: Are you coming with use Emergo?

ICHI'S THOUGHTS: Say yes and I'll kill you the first chance I get.

Panel 4: EMERGO shakes his head.

EMERGO: No, I'm expected in Galthar city in a week for my sister's wedding.

Page 8 (2 panels)

Panel 1: Large panel. The following morning, Shiv and Ichi bid farewell to Emergo. The fire is out and Emergo has his belongings in a pack on this back.

SHIV: Thank you for all your help.

EMERGO: Your most welcome. And I wish you well. It sounds like you'll have quite the adventure.

Panel 2: Shiv and Ichi begin their journey. Emergo heads off in he opposite directions. Shiv and Ichi walk side by side. Shiv looks ackward compared to the graceful ninja.

SHIV: Is now a bad time to tell you that I hate adventures?
