Panel 1: Wide panel. Wolf-Shiv lunges at the Barkhauser.

Panel 2: Wide panel. The Princess draws her sword as Wolf-Shiv and Barkhauser fight.

Panel 3: Wide panel. Barkhauser jabs at Wolf-Shiv's face, but Wolf-Shiv parries with a grin.

Wolf-Shiv: Too slow.

Page 2 (7 panels)

Panel 1: Wolf-shiv's parrying arm manovers Barkhauser round and Wolf-Shiv knees him in the kidneys.

Panel 2: Barkhauser grimaces in pain and GROWLS.

Panel 3: Barkhauser smashes into Wolf-Shiv's face with his wing.

Panel 4: Princess moves toward Barkhauser's back.

Panel 5: Wolf-Shiv land a low side kick to Barkhauser's knee, dislocating it.

Panel 6: Princess steps forward as Barkhauser struggles to his feet.

PRINCESS: Shiv, stand back and I'll finish him!

Panel 7: Barkhauser picks up a rock.

Page 3 (6 panels)

Panel 1: Barkhauser flies toards the princess and hurls the rock at the same time.

Panel 2: The Princess uses her sword to deflect the rock, snapping the sword in the process.

Panel 3: Wolf-Shiv grabs Barkhausers leg.

WOLF-SHIV: Oh no, no no. You're not getting out of it that easily.

Panel 4: Wide panel. Wolf-Shiv slams Barkhauser against the ground.

Panel 5: The princess CURSES and discards her sword.

Panel 6: Princess draws a dagger from her boot.

Page 4 (8 panels)

Panel 1: Barkhauser crawls up onto his knees.

Panel 2: Barkhauser sweeps Wolf-Shiv's legs ouit from under him.

Panel 3: As Wolf-Shiv falls, Barkhauser flies towards the princess.

Panel 4: The princess slashes at Barkhauser, giving him a flesh wound to the arm.

Panel 5: Wolf-Shiv picks himself up. He is incensed.

WOLF-SHIV: Get back here!

Panel 6: Wolf-Shiv rans towards Princess and Barkhauser, claws ready to strike.

Panel 7: Barkhauser grabs the princess's arm.

Panel 8: Barkhauser throws Princess into Wolf-Shiv's path.

Page 5 (6 panels)

Panel 1: Princess's throat is slashed by Wolf-Shiv's claw's.

Panel 2: Wolf-Shiv pauses to push Princess out of his way.

Panel 3: Wolf-Shiv rushes Barkhauser again.

Panel 4: Wolf-Shiv smashes into BArkhauser, slashing him with his claws.

Panel 5: The Princess lies on the ground, dead.

Panel 6: Wolf-Shiv snaps Barhausers neck.

PAnel 7: Wolf-Shiv HOWL victoriously. The retreating Dracobats can be seen in the distance.

Panel 8: Wolf-Shiv bends over Barkhauser's body and eats the liver.

PAnel 9: Wolf-Shiv jerks upright, he is changing.


Page 6 (3 panels conceived as a splash page with 2 small inserts)

Panel 1: Small panel. Shiv is Shiv again. He looks confused.

SHIV: What the--!

Panel 2: Large panel. Shiv stands beside the two dead and mutilated bodies. He looks at it in horror at the blood on his hands.

CAPTION: Oh God!

Panel 3: Small panel. Shiv faints.

Page 7 (7 panels)

Panel 1: Blackout.

CAPTION: Don't try to move, you've got a nasty head wound.

PANEL 2: Shiv's POV. Shiv opens his eyes and sees the blurred form of Emergo, an elderly elf, who is leaning over him.

Panel 3: Shiv's eyes focus and Emergo can be seen clearly. He has an air of benevolence and curiosity.

EMERGO: You've got a minor head wound.

PANEL 4: Shiv sits up, Emergo sits back. Shiv has bandaged his head. Emergo has a campfire and is boiler tea on it. They are sitting a little away from the bodies.

SHIV: I think I fainted.

PANEL 5: Large panel. Shiv rubs the bandage.

SHIV: I was talking to the Princess and this gargoyle creature came. Then everything went blank. Then they was dead. Then everything went blank again.

Panel 6: Emergo hands Shiv a cup of hot liquid.

EMERGO: That was General Barkhauser; a Dracobat. Very nasty.

EMERGO: What's you're name?

SHIV: Shiv.

Panel 7: Shiv drinks.

EMERGO: If you don't mind me asking, Shiv, what are you?

SHIV: Human.

Panel 1: Emergo is intregued.

EMERGO: Really, you can from accross the barrier?

Panel 2: Wide panel. Emergo and Shiv talk.

EMERGO: How did you manage it?

SHIV: I don't know. I was home, then I was here, then I got capured and then that thing --

SHIV: Oh my god! They're dead. Shouldn't be bury them or something?

Panel 3: Emergo looks over at the dead bodies.

EMERGO: I'll take the princess's body to her father, the Dracobat can rot here.

Panel 4: Shiv nods, perplexed but compliant.

SHIV: OK.

Panel 5: The Princess's body lying on the ground.

EMERGO CAPTION: How did she die?

SHIV CAPTION: I don't know.

Panel 6: Ninja watches from a distance.
